PLAY THERAPY – not just for children, adolescents but their families too
Child-Centered Play Therapy is a systematic treatment approach to child-generated play. Experiential activities that detail that support the child or adolescent in managing distress, lagging skills in emotional, social and academic support. The four major elements of play therapy techniques are: structuring, reflective listening, fantasy play, and limit setting. Debra has been a school counselor in elementary, middle and high school supporting the social emotional well being of children. Debra is a Marriage Family Therapy Associate, supervised by Michael Uram, LMFT, LPCC in Newport Beach & Tustin, California with continued education at Harvard Medical School in Child Psychotherapy, Mind Body Medicine.
SOCIAL SKILLS MINDSET GROUPS –
Developing Social-Emotional Competencies, Self-Regulation, Executive Functioning Skills, Problem Solving & Growth Mindset.
Kids will learn, Conversation Skills, Identify Bullying, Social Media Etiquette, Building Resiliency. Kids have a hard time with Making Friends, Managing Humor, Gossip, Rumors and will have a Tool box of Comebacks for Social Competence & Confidence.
